Continuing the thread that began over a month ago and culminated in a Fair to Flair article about wrestling commentary, I’d like to point out something that an actual sport does really, really well. There are apparently enough people out there who like listening to baseball instead of watching it that MLB has a paid subscription for the privilege.The subscription lets you listen to either home or away audio as well, which is fantastic if you have a favourite team and want to hear the same commentary all season.
For WWE, it should be simple: offer three commentary tracks to everyone with a digital television: English with commentary, the live audio track with no commentary, and SAP (and, I suppose, any other language they broadcast in). It wouldn’t take that much work, and would make a whole ton of people a lot happier.
